Trust Impact Report
8 FORGET ME NOTTS Providing access to sporting and social activities for those living with dementia and their carers. The Forget Me Notts dementia programme remains one of our most popular initiatives, with over 140 members (made up of those living with dementia and their carers) enjoying free sport and social sessions across three venues, including Trent Bridge where we regularly welcome 75 members to our monthly Trent Bridge Café. Taking on board feedback, we restructured our carers’ meetings to provide relaxed opportunities to network with other carers and gain valuable insight from 12 professional organisations across the year, including the likes of Alzheimer’s UK and Dementia UK. The introduction of a volunteering network, meanwhile, has seen nine new volunteers inducted into the programme. Sessions at Rushcliffe Arena offered an increased variety of activities in 2024, leading to 85% of members becoming more physically active, while monthly visits to Edwalton Golf Club saw members re-kindle their passion for golf in a way they thought was behind them. With support from John Pye Auctions we hosted our annual Christmas Lunch at Trent Bridge, welcoming 100 members and guests for a festive lunch and sing-along. The increase in attendances across all venues is a testament to the programme’s benefits. 85% of members are more physically active as a result of their attendance at Forget Me Notts.
