Nottinghamshire First Class Debut – 23 April 2008 v Oxford MCCU (The Parks)

One of the premier fast bowlers in world cricket, Stuart Broad’s international commitments have, understandably, curtailed his county appearances since the seamer moved from Leicestershire to Notts a decade ago.

Following in the footsteps of his father, former Notts opening batsman Chris, Broad junior made his county debut at the start of the 2008 campaign but since then has enjoyed a rapid advancement up the world rankings.

In 2010 Broad was part of the England side which won the ICC World Twenty20 competition in the Caribbean. He has since skippered his country in both white ball formats but it is in the Test arena where he excels.

He is the 14th - and most recent - England player to receive 100 Test caps and only James Anderson has taken more wickets for the country. His performances with the ball have included two Test match hat-tricks, the only English bowler to achieve that feat, and a destructive burst of 8-15 in the Ashes Test match at Trent Bridge in 2015.

Additionally, he has made a Test match century for England, scoring 169 against Pakistan at Lord’s in 2010.

His fleeting appearances for the Robin Hood county have coincided with some of Nottinghamshire’s finest moments in recent years.

Circumstances dictated that he would only play a minor role in the championship-winning season of 2010 but his two appearances helped deliver 19 wickets, including eight for 52 against Warwickshire at Edgbaston.

Broad has also played in two victorious cup finals for the Outlaws, taking three wickets in an over as Notts beat Glamorgan in 2013 and claiming a total of 10 victims in the successful Royal London campaign last season.
