Sophia Dunkley and Georgia Adams have been named in August’s PCA Team of the Month after playing significant roles in Trent Rockets’ first Women’s Hundred title.

Opening batter Dunkley, 28, was the Rockets’ leading run-scorer during a dominant run to the trophy, hitting 301 runs and being named Meerkat Match Hero three times in nine games.

She hit three fifties in a row during wins over Manchester Super Giants, SunRisers Leeds, and Birmingham Phoenix, before striking a rapid 41 in the final to carry the Rockets to victory.

Meanwhile, 32-year-old all-rounder Adams took home the Meerkat Match Hero award in the showpiece against SunRisers at Lord’s, taking two wickets for just nine runs alongside a catch and a run-out.

She picked up six wickets overall, conceding only 81 runs from the 82 balls she bowled, and saved her best figures until last as she helped the Rockets power to the trophy.

The PCA’s MVP system compares player performances against expected outputs for each match, adjusting for venue conditions using CricViz data.

The result is a ball-by-ball ranking designed to reflect true performance, with every player gaining a points total that earns them selection to the final, realistically balanced team.

Dunkley collected 97.1 points and opens the batting, while Adams’ haul of 84.49 is enough for a spot in the middle order, with the side captained by SunRisers’ Australian all-rounder Annabel Sutherland.
