We go into the match needing a win to stay in the hunt for a quarter-final place after losing three of our first four matches in the final over.
Said Swann: "You don?t score 180 -200 runs in Twenty20 without being a good side so it?s up to us to tighten up with the ball and kill these games off.
"We?ve been getting matches into the last over but if we turn the screw a bit earlier teams should be left with an impossible task.
"We?re doing a lot of things right but we need to hammer in the final nail in the coffin when the chance arrives.
"I know I have to do my part as a spinner, because I think they are the best option as bowlers in the competition.
"Batsmen tend to lose their head against slow bowlers and try and whack them out of the ground instead of looking for the singles.
"Spinners can tie down the opposition and take wickets. Samit Patel and I have already shown that this year and we?re looking for more of the same."
Swann also hit form with the bat against Durham Dynamos, with 44 from 37 balls and added: "It was nice to get some runs under my belt. I?ve been hitting the ball well in the competition without getting through the first few overs.
"The wickets have been so good at Trent Bridge that I?ve been getting a bit carried away at times. Durham?s was a lot slower and it made me knuckle down and I?m going in with the same approach against Leicestershire."
