Hussey takes Player of the Month
The 28-year-old smashed a career-best 232 not out against Warwickshire to pass 1,000 Championship runs for the season in just 16 innings - the second-fastest in the country behind his brother Mike.
Director of Cricket Mick Newell said: ?David has been an outstanding player for us in the two seasons he?s been here.
?The double hundred was the key to him winning the award. It was an outstanding performance in a month in which we played some pretty good cricket in the Championship.
?We were in a tricky situation when he came to the wicket but he worked well with the middle and lower order and created a decent lead for us from which we could win the game.?
Hussey celebrated his award by cracking 157 against Gloucestershire, his third hundred of the season and said: ?Mick had asked me to convert some of my half-centuries into three figures and I?ve been concentrating on turning that around.
?It?s worked out quite nicely since but personal milestones don?t really concern me. I?m here to help Notts win matches and hopefully the Championship as well.?
