South African batsman Hashim Amla has expressed a wish to return to Nottinghamshire in the future as he prepares to conclude a fruitful spell at Trent Bridge.

Amla helped Notts earn consecutive victories in their first three LV= County Championship fixtures but will leave after the ongoing game against Durham to join his national team in the West Indies.

I have had a very pleasant time here both cricket-wise and personally and I would love to come back and play for Nottinghamshire again in the future, said Amla.

The players have been warm and welcoming and the contributions Ive made with the bat have helped me to fit into the team and the dressing room.

I am very grateful for the opportunity that I have had because I wanted to go to the West Indies with some first class cricket under my belt and I feel well prepared for the tour.

My objective during my time here has been to help the team to win matches and to challenge myself in tough conditions. Batsmen pride themselves on scoring hundreds and they mean even more when the ball seams and swings which has certainly been the case at Trent Bridge.

Nottinghamshire will be without an overseas player for their next two LV= County Championship fixtures against Hampshire and Essex but Australian batsman David Hussey will feature against Kent at Tunbridge Wells from Friday 4th June.
