Second Eleven Trophy
Warwickshire 223-8 (40 overs) lost to Nottinghamshire 226-4 (39.1 overs) by 6 wickets

Notts made it five wins in a row in the Second Eleven Trophy with a six wicket victory with five balls remaining at Lady Bay.

Akhil Patel and Chris Benham ensured victory with a second wicket partnership of 147 in 26 overs.

Patel was in some ways unfortunate not to score a century as he was out caught at fine leg pulling a short ball from Tom Allin when on 92. He had reached his 50 from 60 balls and in all faced 95 scoring fifty in boundaries

He was well supported by Benham who saw Notts home with 73 not out and guided them through a sticky patch as they lost three wickets in as many overs. Benning only scored 22 in boundaries from 95 balls faced.

Warwickshire batted on winning the toss with Luke Evans (81) and skipper Ian Westwood (52) adding 105 for their second wicket.

Brett Hutton then struck with a four over spell in which he took 4-19 to put the visitors on the back foot. Hutton was backed by Jake Ball, who took 3-37.
