Australia will enter the ICC Cricket World Cup as number one in the Reliance ICC ODI Team Rankings after an excellent run of form in the Carlton Mid Tri-Series.

They currently hold a six point lead over second-placed India, and there is further movement expected between teams following the conclusion of a number of ongoing ODI series.

New Zealand could narrow the gap between themselves and fifth-placed England with another victory over Pakistan.

James Taylor’s excellent form for England has not gone unnoticed in the Batsmen rankings. He has rocketed up some 53 places to 86th, while Blackcaps batsman Luke Ronchi has also progressed to a career-high 27th.

Taylor’s England teammate Ian Bell has also moved positively, while Australian pair Glenn Maxwell and James Faulkner and South Africa dominate the top two – AB de Villiers and Hashim Amla some way ahead of Virat Kohli in third.

With a look to the bowlers, James Anderson has moved up two places to fourth in the rankings, while Steven Finn and Moeen Ali both made positive moves after taking Tri-Series wickets.
