Nottinghamshire Women’s cricketer Sonia Odedra has been honoured at the 2015 Asian Cricket Awards by winning the Woman in Cricket award.

Having represented England in one Test match in 2014, this summer has all been about her work with Notts as the all-rounder contributed with both bat and ball.

The right-hander scored 267 runs and took 13 wickets in all competitions for Notts Women this year as she also turned out for England’s Academy.

She was honoured alongside other professional cricketers in Moeen Ali and Vikram Solanki and received widespread praise from the likes of Kabir Ali and Jas Jassai, the founder of the awards.

“Congratulations to Sonia on winning the award last night,” Ali tweeted whilst Jassai added “a well-deserved woman in cricket award winner.”
