After an emphatic victory in the Second Investec Test against Pakistan, the Nottinghamshire trio of Jake Ball, Stuart Broad and Alex Hales have retained their places in the squad ahead of the third match at Edgbaston.

Ball, who made his Test debut in the First Investec Test at Lord’s taking 1-88 from 35 overs, could return to the fold after Ben Stokes, who replaced him during the 330-run victory at Old Trafford, was ruled out with a torn calf.

Broad added one wicket to his match figures of 6-109 in the First Test, which took him to 350 scalps in the five-day arena, and is set to once again partner James Anderson with the new ball.

Hales, who scored ten and 24 in the Second Test, is likely to continue his opening partnership with Alastair Cook.
