Following the successful fundraising dinner in partnership with The Broad Appeal, the Trent Bridge Community Trust is now joining forces with Notts County FC Football in the Community, and the national charity CEO Sleepout UK, to help combat poverty and homelessness in Nottingham.

On Thursday 13 October, executives from around the East Midlands will join together to spend the night pitch-side under the floodlights at Meadow Lane, raising awareness for a growing problem within the local community, as well as raising funds for the three charities.

The event follows CEO Sleepout UK’s success in hosting similar sleepouts across the country in locations such as St James’ Park, Old Trafford Cricket Ground and Lord’s, with a follow-up event already planned for Trent Bridge in 2017.

Around 500 executives have taken part in the sleepouts and together have raised over £791,000 to fight homelessness and poverty in the UK.

“Homelessness is a significant issue locally and across the country," said Nottinghamshire County Cricket Club Finance Director Tim Eatherington.

"This event will raise both money and awareness to help tackle the issue.

“Our recent gala dinner with The Broad Appeal demonstrated the power of working in partnership with other charitable organisations, so it’s exciting to be embarking on another collaboration with two thoroughly worthwhile causes.

“Plans are already being put in place for this to become an annual event and we are looking forward to hosting it at Trent Bridge in 2017.

“With the success CEO Sleepout have achieved at other venues - there’s every reason to believe it can become an established part of the local calendar.”
