Steven Mullaney will captain Nottinghamshire in Saturday’s Specsavers County Championship fixture against Durham.

With Chris Read set to be sidelined for a number of weeks with a hand injury, Mullaney is taking over the reins in four-day cricket during the Club Captain’s absence.

“It will be a proud moment and a massive honour to lead Nottinghamshire onto the field,” said the 29-year-old all-rounder.

“Notts is a massive Club, so it’s something I’m really looking forward to and excited about.”

More news regarding the length of Read’s absence is expected next week.
