Date of birth – 31 July 2002, Harare, Zimbabwe
Nottinghamshire First-Class debut: 4 July 2021 vs Derbyshire (Trent Bridge)
Former Zimbabwe Under 19s gloveman Dane Schadendorf has delivered a series of glowing performances for Nottinghamshire's Second XI and in the handful of first team outings he’s made thus far.
A dual National, the wicketkeeper-batter committed himself to the English game in 2020 whilst playing for Caythorpe in the Nottinghamshire Premier League and impressed in his first outings for the county second string.
By that stage, the right-hand bat had already made 10 appearances for Zimbabwe’s U19s, including three on the famous Kingsmead ground in Durban and six at the ICC Under-19 World Cup. His showings in the international arena, which included a remarkable legside stumping against New Zealand, drew widespread acclaim.
Schadendorf made his first-class debut for Nottinghamshire in unlikely circumstances in 2021, deputising mid-game for Ben Duckett, who was called up to the England squad. Unphased by the sudden elevation, the youngster made a stylish 24 with the bat before claiming four catches in Derbyshire's second innings.
In 2022, the 20-year-old was the season's leading run scorer in the Second XI Championship with 1,001 runs, more than any player has scored since 2006. He also pouched a competition-leading 34 dismissals, plus another 10 in nine Royal London Cup games for the Outlaws.
