A Northamptonshire native, Groves burst onto the cricketing scene with her home county in 2019 taking five wickets at an average of 15.20 in the Women’s Twenty20 Cup. She went on to claim a further five scalps in 2021, and seven more a year later. 

The teenager was included in the Lightning’s Academy for the 2021 season, before being added to the senior squad in August. She made her debut against South East Stars in the Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy. 

In 2022, the leg-spinner played eight matches across the T20 and 50-over competitions, taking eight wickets and scoring her maiden List A half century against Southern Vipers, earning herself selection in England’s squad for the 2023 ICC Under 19’s Women’s T20 World Cup in South Africa.
