Newly-installed captain Steven Mullaney, Alex Hales, Luke Fletcher and Mark Footitt were among the Nottinghamshire players quizzed by former batsman Michael Lumb at a presentation and Q&A held at David Lloyd West Bridgford last night (Tuesday).

Attended by David Lloyd members, the event celebrated the Club’s successful 2017 campaign, during which they won the Royal London One-Day Cup at Lord’s, the NatWest T20 Blast at Edgbaston and promotion to Division One of the County Championship.

The chance to ask questions was also opened up to the floor, while a video relived some of the highlights of an eventful summer.

There was also the opportunity to have pictures taken with the players and the two white ball trophies which are currently in Notts’ possession as reigning champions.

“It was great for the lads to spend some time with David Lloyd members and to be able to give something back to the place where they enjoy coming to use the gym facilities as part of their fitness programmes,” said the Club’s Head Coach Peter Moores.

The evening saw more than £200 raised for David Lloyd’s charity, Revitalise.

Ray Burge, General Manager at David Lloyd West Bridgford, said: “Michael Lumb hosted the event magnificently, being so thoroughly prepared, taking the audience from the pre-season trip to Barbados all the way through to the promotion.

“We also had insight from Peter Moores, Steven Mullaney, fresh off a flight from Australia, and the legendary Bulwell Bomber himself, Luke Fletcher. There was a great mixture of stories from the most amazing of seasons.”
