Date of birth: 8 November 1998 Sunderland, Co.Durham.
Nottinghamshire First-Class debut: v Somerset (Taunton) 2019.
Although born in the north-east, Liam Patterson-White is very much a homegrown talent, having worked his way through the Nottinghamshire age groups whilst developing his craft at Farnsfield Cricket Club.
The former England Under-19 international impressed on the county’s pre-season of tour of South Africa in March 2019 and was then blooded into first team cricket just four months later.
The County Ground, Taunton has proved a happy hunting ground for the all-rounder, having taken his maiden five-wicket haul on debut in the south-west despite a mid-game bout of tonsilitis which saw him frequent hospital. He returned to Somerset to score his maiden First-Class century from only 116 balls in 2021.
The undoubted potential of his first couple of seasons was delivered in spades in 2022 when he was the most successful English spin bowler in county cricket, taking 41 championship scalps at 27.95 apiece.
That record saw him rewarded with matches for the First-Class Counties XI against both India and New Zealand, as well as on the England Lions tour of Sri Lanka early in 2023.
