England will step out at Trent Bridge for the 30th time in One-Day International cricket on Tuesday, as they look to secure a series victory over Pakistan after taking a 2-0 lead with victories at the Ageas Bowl and Lord’s.

Of the 29 previous times England have played ODI cricket in Nottingham, they have emerged victorious on 14 occasions, losing 13 times with games ending tied on two occasions.

One of those ties came against Sri Lanka earlier in the year, where Liam Plunkett smashed a final ball six in a thrilling finale after Chris Woakes’ unbeaten 95 and Jos Buttler’s 93 helped England recover from 82-6 in pursuit of 287.

The venue's inaugural England versus Pakistan encounter was in fact the first ever ODI at Trent Bridge on Saturday 31 August 1974, where the tourists ran out seven-wicket victors after Majid Khan’s 93-ball 109.

Since then England have taken-on the touring Pakistanis on five other occasions, winning three of the contests and losing twice.

Against all opposition, England have amassed 6,723 runs and taken 213 wickets across their 29 fixtures at Trent Bridge, and have provided some thrilling memories for the Nottinghamshire faithful to cherish.

In 2008, Stuart Broad took career-best List A figures of 5-23 on his home ground as England romped to a ten-wicket victory over South Africa, after the tourists were all out for just 83.

In 2011, England completed another convincing victory at Trent Bridge, this time over Sri Lanka, as Alastair Cook (95* off 75) and Craig Kieswetter (72* off 68) chased down 171 inside 24 overs.

And as recently as last year, centuries from Joe Root and Eoin Morgan, on the back of a quickfire 67 from Alex Hales, set England on their way to a record chase of 350 against New Zealand.

Trent Bridge will host an Investec Test Match between England and South Africa, and a Royal London One-Day International visit from the West Indies, in 2017.
