Notts Outlaws fell to defeat in the Vitality T20 Blast by 47 runs against Lancashire Lightning at Old Trafford despite an impressive half-century from Moises Henriques.

The hosts made 216-3 from their 20 overs as Keaton Jennings and Luke Wells compiled a 177-run opening partnership.

Henriques was the Outlaws' highest scorer in response, making a well-earned 60 from 32 balls, but Notts fell short of chasing down a second total over 200 in consecutive days.

Lightning started strongly, as the hosts’ opening partnership saw them reach at 59/0 from the power play.

Wells and Jennings then soon moved to their half-centuries, with the Lightning captain finding the players’ balcony with a six as Lancashire saw themselves to 110-0 at the half-way stage.

They continued to strike boundaries, before Dillon Pennington found the breakthrough after 15 overs, as Wells was caught by Matt Montgomery.

The Outlaws eventually found some momentum and slowed the run rate down after Liam Patterson-White removed Jennings for 95.

Moments later, Henriques took a superb diving catch for the final wicket of the innings, removing Ashton Turner for 12.

Following the loss of openers Joe Clarke and Lyndon James, the in-form duo of Jack Haynes and Henriques began to kick on as the latter found the boundary well, taking 17 from one Wells over.

Haynes made a quick-fire 23 before Charlie Barnard removed him with the help of Jennings in the field.

However, Henriques carried on, reaching fifty from 21 balls, with his knock including eight boundaries, as Notts reached the halfway stage at 91-3.

After Tom Moores was removed for 24, Notts' charge began to falter as Henriques and Sams fell soon after.

Despite Patterson-White and Calvin Harrison finding the boundary on a few occasions late on, Notts were eventually all out for 169.
