Harry Gurney and Alex Hales have been named amongst the ten 'Most Valuable Players' in the 2019 Vitality Blast season so far.

Gurney sits fourth in the list, complied by the Professional Cricketers Association, having claimed 10 wickets for the Outlaws so far, the second-most of anybody in the competition.

Half of these came in a career-best bowling performance of 5-30 against Derbyshire Falcons.

His teammate Alex Hales is listed in eighth place by the PCA, having also begun the tournament strongly.

The opener occupies fourth spot in the leading run scorers’ chart, with 158 runs from his four innings at an average of just under 40.

The PCA Most Valuable Player Rankings use a bespoke formula to distinguish the key match-winners and influencers in each professional game in England and Wales.

Hales and Gurney will look to continue their form as the Outlaws play host to Birmingham Bears this coming Friday.
