England’s Nat Sciver-Brunt and Sarah Glenn have signed for The Blaze ahead of the 2023 season, while Tammy Beaumont has extended her stay in the East Midlands.

The trio – all centrally contracted with the Three Lions – join the newly-branded side at their Trent Bridge base, with the regional hub having made the switch from Loughborough over the winter.

“We are delighted that Nat, Sarah and Tammy have decided to be with us for 2023,” said The Blaze’s Head Coach Chris Guest.

“Tammy has been here for a few years; she is brilliant to have around the dressing room. She has bought into our efforts to drive standards, and Nat and Sarah will no doubt do the same.

“They are all game-winners in their own right, and they add strength to our squad of players who have been working hard throughout the winter.”

Sciver-Brunt has earned a reputation as one of the world’s foremost all-rounders having scored over 5,000 runs and taken just shy of 150 wickets across ODI and IT20 cricket. She has also posted 512 runs in eight Test Matches, at an average of 46.54.

She was recently named both the ICC Women’s Cricketer of the Year and Women’s ODI Cricketer of the Year for 2022.

Derbyshire-born leg-spinner Glenn – who has moved from West Midlands-based Central Sparks – has 54 scalps in IT20 cricket at an average under 17, with a further 12 wickets in the ODI format.

Both players were part of the Trent Rockets outfit who finished third in the second edition of The Hundred, and are members of the England squad currently competing in the ICC T20 Women's World Cup in South Africa.

Meanwhile Beaumont, who has scored 5,493 international runs across all formats, remains in the East Midlands having moved to the region in 2020.

In that time, she has chalked up 438 runs in 11 games for Lightning, passing 50 on six occasions.

“We have a talented young group, and exposure to players with international pedigree can only be a good thing for their development,” added Guest.

“I’m excited to see how we compete on the field this year with the three of them on our side.”
