Mick Newell and Kirstie Gordon are the guests of Nottingham Cricket Lovers’ Society at its next meeting on Thursday 5 February, with an afternoon start at 2pm.

Nottinghamshire’s Director of Cricket Mick Newell will be joined by a senior player to celebrate last season’s County Championship triumph.

In over 40 years at the club, Mick has now been part of Nottinghamshire’s last four County Championship wins as a player, coach and Director of Cricket, along with a series of white-ball triumph. He will also reflect on some of the current challenges and opportunities facing cricket.

In the first part of the meeting, The Blaze captain Kirstie Gordon will outline her career and experiences in the game.

She became The Blaze captain in 2023 and led the side to success in the Charlotte Edwards Cup the following year.

At International level, Kirstie has represented both Scotland and England, including during the T20 World Cup and in an Ashes Test Match.

This meeting will take place in the Derek Randall Suite at Trent Bridge at 2pm, with access to the ground through the Hound Road Gate.

Everyone is welcome at meetings of the society. Individual membership of the Society costs £20 per year - £30 for a couple and £5 for juniors.
