Centurion Jack Haynes hailed the efforts of Nottinghamshire’s entire batting line-up as the Green and Golds put themselves in with a strong chance of completing a three-day victory over Essex.
Haynes struck an unbeaten 137 and found welcome support from Haseeb Hameed’s 89 and 61 from Fergus O’Neill, and he described the pleasure of batting with both.
He went on to stress that Notts’ job is not done yet, with the hosts still holding eight second-innings wickets, but he has full belief in the Green and Golds’ bowling attack.
