Alex Hales and Martyn Dobson will open the batting for the Nottinghamshire Second XI in today’s Trophy match against Minor Counties at Wellbeck CC.

Guy Darwin makes his first appearance for the Second XI after catching the eye in action for Northern Universities and Rob Ferley captains the side.

“Minor Counties are usually one of the most competitive teams in the group and they tend to bring a mixture of ex-professionals and young players who are eager to impress,” said Notts 2nd XI Coach Wayne Noon.

“We’ve never played at Wellbeck before and we don’t know what to expect from the wicket but we’re looking forward to the game.”
