Notts duly wrapped up victory over Worcestershire an hour into the final day at Worksop College.
 
Akhil Patel completed his third Championship hundred of the season & seemed set for a "red inker" when he was caught at gully with only three runs required for victory. His match winning innings took 205 minutes 168 balls & contained 15 fours & a six. He put on 175 with Scott Elstone for the fourth wicket. Elstone finishing with a Championship best of 53 not out
 
Greg Wood was out first ball but two runs from Sam Kelsall sealed a five wicket victory.

Fast bowler Andy Carter continued his remarkable run of form with a ten wicket haul in the game.
 
This win puts Notts in second place in the table six points behind Yorkshire from the same number of games.
 
However Notts next opponents Durham have a game in hand in third place. The two sides meet at Worksop College in a Trophy game on Monday 3rd August followed on the Tuesday by a three day Championship clash.
