An ECB pitch panel has deemed that no action will be taken against Nottinghamshire CCC after rating the pitch prepared for the LV= County Championship match against Warwickshire as 'below average'.

Warwickshire secured victory on day three of the match as Nottinghamshire sliped to a second successive defeat.

“We take great pride in preparing the best possible pitches at Trent Bridge and have received consistently good feedback from players, umpires and spectators for a number of years," said Nottinghamshire Chief Executive Lisa Pursehouse.

“Steve Birks, our Head Groundsman, and his team do a fantastic job in maintaining the square and the outfield to exacting standards and their dedication is reflected in their exemplary track record.

“Unfortunately, the pitch prepared for our fixture against Warwickshire has been deemed below average following the conclusion of a considered meeting of an ECB Pitch Panel.

“The process provided all parties with a chance to speak openly and was conducted swiftly and professionally. We accept their decision and the reasoning behind it."
