More than 3,000 opera fans enjoyed a live screening from the Royal Opera House at Trent Bridge on Tuesday evening.

Attendees were invited to picnic on the pitch while many chose to take in the view from the stands.

The event, supported locally by Haart and nationally by BP, was free to attend and designed to showcase Trent Bridge to a new audience.

The performance of La bohème was broadcast on outdoor screens across the UK with more than 6,000 people gathering in Trafalgar Square.
