England remain in a good position going in to day three of the first Test with the West Indies in Antigua, despite only adding 58 runs for their last five wickets in the morning session.

The visitors’ bowlers then reduced the West Indies to 155-4 by the close of play, a wicket apiece from James Anderson, Stuart Broad, Chris Jordan and James Tredwell.

With all eyes on Anderson’s pursuit of Ian Botham’s wicket taking tally of 383, Jordan believes England produced a good bowling performance to take four wickets by the end of play.

And the seamer knows it is only a matter of time before Anderson has the further three wickets he needs to become England’s top Test wicket taker.

“Jimmy got us off and running with the first wicket, and the rest of us tried to back that up, which I thought we did pretty well,” he said.

“If he keeps doing that and bowling the way he does, those wickets are just around the corner.

"The stat is obviously there but I don't think Jimmy or any of us are going about our cricket or thinking about things differently.

"We're just trying to group balls as a bowling unit and create pressure.

"As a group we try and win every session, so we'll come back as hard as we can to break this partnership, then make inroads into the tail."

West Indies had fallen to 99-4 before Jermaine Blackwood and Shivnarine Chanderpaul took the hosts to 155-4 by close.

Opener Kraigg Brathwaite ensured that his side got off to a solid start after he survived the opening spell from Anderson.

And he wondered whether the England man had tired as the day went on, Anderson bowling just four overs after in the final session.

“Obviously, when Anderson started with the new ball it was moving a lot, so facing him then was a little more challenging,” said Brathwaite.

"But obviously he bowled a couple of overs before lunch as well, so I don't know if maybe he was a little bit tired.

"It was a good challenge facing him when the ball is swinging both ways. The key is to keep as still as possible."
