Nottinghamshire County Cricket Club Chairman Peter Wright has announced a pre-tax surplus of £279,160 for the year to 30 September 2014.

Enjoying four days of sold-out international cricket as well as excellent returns from hospitality and another significant increase in domestic attendances at Trent Bridge, a total turnover of £11,159,732 was recorded.

Breaking the 10,000 barrier for the opening fixture of the NatWest t20 Blast and again for Notts Outlaws’ match against the Leicestershire Foxes, some 60,982 visited Trent Bridge during the tournament’s group stage, as well as 11,271 for the Outlaws’ home quarter-final against Hampshire.

“2014 was a very good year for us financially, allowing us to continue to combine our on-field successes with sustained profitability and develop our ties with the local community,” said Wright.

“To have hosted four days of sold-out international cricket is testament to the continued hard work done by every member of staff to ensure that our customer experience remains at the core of our business.

“This international success was lifted further by attracting higher attendances for domestic cricket, specifically in the NatWest T20 Blast, where we had the highest attendance of any club outside of London.”

Trent Bridge were awarded a series of major matches by the ECB for 2017-2019, which will see Test cricket continue to be played in Nottinghamshire, as well as prestigious fixtures in the ICC Cricket World Cup in 2019.

“To have Test matches against prestigious opposition in India and South Africa, as well as five ICC Cricket World Cup matches in 2019, is befitting of a ground of our status, and a perfect reward for the work done to help us reach this point,” added Wright.

“We continue to look ahead, though. The programme of international matches awarded is not only the result of our good work to date, but our commitment to continue to develop and push forward as an organisation.

“In line with these matches we will continue to explore further enhancing Trent Bridge to ensure that our excellent ground continues to compete with other Test Match venues while maintaining the best possible experience for players and spectators.”

Peter will join Chief Executive Lisa Pursehouse and Treasurer Ray Dawson in making detailed presentations to members at the Club’s Annual General Meeting on Monday 23 February.
