Having secured the Investec Ashes series 3-2 and edging home in the one-off NatWest T20 International, England are out to complete a clean sweep of series victories over Australia in the Royal London One-Day Series, starting at the Ageas Bowl tomorrow.

After a Test series which saw five resounding victories, three for England and two for Australia, the T20 match in Cardiff provided the summer with a welcome cliffhanger.

England captain Eoin Morgan, who scored 74 off 39 balls in the welsh capital, admits he’s still learning as a captain despite the exhilarating series victory over New Zealand.

"We're at a completely different phase in our development with our team and our squad compared to Australia so it's certainly going to be a good test,” he said.

"I'm learning along the way and my thoughts and ideas are being implemented.

"The way we played against New Zealand was really good, we took the game on.

"We know how they're going to play. They're going to come quite hard so we're going to get opportunities if we get the ball in the right areas.

"We've just got to make sure we take those opportunities."

Australia fast-bowler Mitchell Starc, meanwhile, is warning England’s batsmen to expect plenty of chin music.

“I reckon we can probably bowl a lot more bouncers than we did in that Twenty20 game,” he said.

“Even in that game against Ireland we probably didn't bowl enough either.

“The boundaries in Southampton are quite large, so without having that straight hit, and the square boundaries are back even further, those bouncers for both teams are probably going to come into play.

“Generally when you’re bowling your quickest you feel like you’re bowling slow. I’m glad I don’t have to face it."
