Jake Ball, Ben Kitt and Lyndon James each won awards at Nottinghamshire’s annual end of season awards dinner held at Trent Bridge.

The trio took home the awards for Player of the Season, Young Player of the Season, and Most Improved Young Player respectively.

Ball has enjoyed a stellar summer with the 25-year-old making his England debut against Pakistan and amassing 64 wickets across all three formats for the county.

2016 also brought with it a county cap and a first class hat-trick, when the Mansfield-born paceman reducing Middlesex to 0-3 at Trent Bridge by removing Sam Robson, Ollie Rayner and Nick Compton.

Ball is once again spending a winter away with England and Lions squads, first touring Bangladesh with the full national squad before joining the Lions for the latter part of the year.

Kitt’s summer has gone from strength to strength with the strapping fast bowler taking over 100 wickets on his way to a first professional contract with the Club.

Having signed for the next two years, the 21-year-old will spend the winter in New Zealand playing for Auckland University, where he is likely to join forces with former Nottinghamshire bowler Andre Adams.

Lyndon James made both his Academy and Second Team debuts over the course of the summer, having impressed with the County’s Under 17 side.

The 17-year-old all-rounder amassed 823 runs across the summer with his performances meriting a call up to the East Midlands’ Development side for the Super Fours tournament.
