It was mixed fortunes for Nottinghamshire Under-17s in their 20-over double header against Warwickshire in two hard-fought matches.

In game one, Notts accrued 130-6 batting first as Daniel Blatherwick, cousin of recent List A debutant Jack, scored 57 not out, while Thomas Booth ended on 15 not out.

Warwickshire’s reply came up four runs short as they finished on 126-6, with Daniel Mousley making 52.

Josh Porter (pictured) took 2-27 and Joey Evison 2-25, each bowling four overs.

Game two saw Warwickshire bat first and close on 112 all out as Manraj Johal top scored with 31 and Porter (3-15) and Freddie King (3-24) were among the wickets.

But Notts could not quite reach that target as they were dismissed for 101, leaving Warwickshire victorious by 11 runs, despite Archie Moore’s 33, Nick Kimber’s 24 and Tom Booth’s 19 not out.
