Liam Patterson-White notched his second big hundred in a week as Nottinghamshire’s Second XI started solidly on the opening day against Warwickshire.

The Academy all-rounder, who also passed three figures in the recent drawn fixture against Durham, ended the opening day at Lady Bay unbeaten on 153 as the home side closed on 274-4.

Called into action at number three when Jake Libby was out for seven, Patterson-White quickly lost a partner in Chris Gibson (23) before sharing in a third wicket stand of 154 with Lyndon James (54).

Patterson-White’s century took 130 balls before clocking up his 150 after 89 further deliveries.

Joey Evison is unbeaten overnight having contributed 24* to an unbroken partnership of 65 with the in-form 20-year-old, as Nottinghamshire regrouped from an Ethan Brookes double-strike that accounted for both James and Sol Budinger (0).
