Trent Bridge has played witness to a number of special catches down the years, but surely none rival the extraordinary efforts from Andrew Strauss and Ben Stokes – both against the old enemy, Australia.

As England fought tooth-and-nail throughout the 2005 summer to win a first Ashes series in 18 years, Strauss pulled off a superb one-handed catch to dismiss Australian talisman Adam Gilchrist.

Meanwhile, some 10 years later, in the middle of one of ‘those’ Stuart Broad spells, Ben Stokes produced a truly special piece of fielding to dismiss former Nottinghamshire man Adam Voges.
