Matthew Montgomery and Brett Hutton have been named joint John Pye Players of the Month for May, after impressive performances with bat and ball.

Montgomery scored 398 runs during May, including a County Championship knock of 177 which included 26 boundaries, and 51 off 29 balls against Derbyshire in the Vitality Blast.

Hutton, meanwhile, secured 17 wickets across three red-ball appearances in May, including 5/66 against Lancashire and 5/37 at Northampton.

Montgomery received his accolade ahead of the Outlaws’ Vitality Blast fixture against Durham, with Henry Preston-Macauley from John Pye on hand to present the award.
