Fast bowler Olly Stone has signed a new two-year deal that will keep him at Trent Bridge until the end of the 2028 season.

Stone has taken 46 all-format wickets for Nottinghamshire already in 2026, striking at an average of 26.56, with three instances of more than five scalps in an innings.

Only two days ago, the right-armer registered his best bowling figures in a Notts shirt by taking a match haul of 10/116 during a three-day County Championship win over Surrey at the Kia Oval.

His performances have helped the Green and Golds reach the top of Division One of the Championship after nine games, as well as progress to the last four of both white-ball competitions.

“I love the club, I love the way everyone operates, and to call Trent Bridge home for two more years, is very pleasing,” said Stone.

“Kevin Shine, Paul Franks, and Peter Moores have been brilliant in helping me to keep getting better and keep developing, and I’m looking forward to another two years with them.

“I feel this year, my performances out on the field have shown that I’ve got better, and it’s great when you can deliver and win games for Nottinghamshire.”

Stone moved to Trent Bridge ahead of the 2023 season, and received his county cap prior to debuting away to Hampshire in April that year, in which he took a wicket with his ninth ball.

The 32-year-old has also added in excess of 500 runs from down the order to his bowling returns, including three half-centuries with a top score of 90.

“We’ve got a great squad here, and not just in one format,” he continued. “We’re now showing that we’ve got the squad to go out and win trophies.

“Everyone is chipping in, and actually, the really good thing is that I think we can still get better, so it’s exciting going forward as we try and build on last year’s success.”

Nottinghamshire Head Coach, Peter Moores, added: “It’s great that Olly has committed himself to the club for the next two years.

“Having watched him over the last week at Surrey, I think he’s back to his very best, bowling with good pace, great control, and high skill.

“We’ve already seen this season how important he was in our Vitality Blast campaign, when he closed out two games in the last over by bowling outstandingly.

“I couldn’t be more pleased that he’s committed to stay, because he’s a key part of our squad and we’re all looking forward to having him around for at least another two years.”
