Seam bowler Cassidy McCarthy broke through with an outstanding 2025 season and has since continued to gain recognition across the game.
Although her 2026 campaign was largely derailed due to injury, she returned towards the end and, having helped SunRisers Leeds to The Hundred Final, played a role in the historic treble.
The daughter of former Wycombe footballer Paul McCarthy, she was born in Sussex, for whom she made her county debut at the age of 15 - in the same side as Danni Wyatt-Hodge.
Having also been part of the Southern Vipers structure under now-England boss Charlotte Edwards, McCarthy first moved to the East Midlands to study at Loughborough University.
She joined The Blaze ahead of the 2023 summer in what was their first season being based at Trent Bridge, and in 2025, claimed 27 wickets across formats at 25.56 apiece.
That year, she also claimed her first scalps in The Hundred for Trent Rockets, before moving north for the 2026 edition when she was signed at the inaugural Auction by SunRisers.
Possessing an especially hooping in-swinger, McCarthy followed on from her Hundred final appearance by being named to the England Performance Programme for the 2026 winter.
