Leg-spinner Josie Groves inhabits a unique world of being both a core part of The Blaze’s squad depth, while also holding the tag of highly-regarded prospect.
Groves has already made more than 60 appearances across formats for The Blaze, but still only played the last of her nine games for England Under-19s in 2024.
A product of the Northamptonshire academy, whose senior side she continues to play for - having done so since the age of 14 - Groves made her debut for then-named Lightning in 2021.
She has remained in the East Midlands ever since, including through the side’s transition to being known as The Blaze, and continues to provide a point of difference as a leg-spinner.
Her international Under-19 debut came at the 2023 T20 World Cup in South Africa, when she claimed 2/5 from three overs and subsequently helped the Three Lions reach the final.
Having played in her final Under-19 international against Australia in April 2024, Groves further underlined her burgeoning talent by signing a rare four-year deal with The Blaze.
In that time, she has debuted in The Hundred for Trent Rockets before moving to London Spirit, while also helping The Blaze to a historic treble in 2026.
