A Hundred champion in 2025 and integral member of The Blaze’s 2026 treble-winning squad, Lucy Higham possesses skill and character in equal measure.
Born and bred in the East Midlands, she played for Leicestershire and Nottinghamshire before joining Loughborough Lightning in 2017, playing in three editions of the Kia Super League.
A graduate of Loughborough University, where she obtained a master’s degree in strength & conditioning, Higham joined Lightning for the inaugural year of the regional era in 2020.
She has remained close to her home patch ever since, including through the side’s transition to being known as The Blaze and move to Trent Bridge ahead of the 2023 season.
Awarded her 100th cap for The Blaze in 2026, Higham is able to impact the game in all facets, being renowned as a wicket-taking spinner, gritty lower-order batter, and a fine fielder too.
Across the treble-winning season, she claimed more than 30 wickets across all competitions, and was named Player of the Match in the Metro Bank One Day Cup final.
A year prior to that, she was also part of the Northern Superchargers (now SunRisers Leeds) side that won The Hundred, alongside Ella Claridge and Grace Ballinger.
