August 9, Cheltenham College
Gloucestershire Gladiators v Notts Outlaws
Start time: 1pm
Supporters? coaches leave the Salutation Inn at 9am and the Dixon Gatecar park at 9.30am. Tickets cost ?17 for adults and ?8.50 for under-16s.

Read is expected to be fit to lead the side after being named asone-day skipper by Director of Cricket Mick Newell while StephenFleming leads New Zealand on tour in Zimbabwe.

Having not played since July 24, we?ve slipped to the bottom of Division One, but are only six points behind fourth place.

A win would pull us out of the relegation zone and Read knows he?s going straight in at the deep end.

He said: ?We need three wins from the next three matches if we want to stay up and I?m confident we can achieve that.

?While our bowling and fielding has been good all year, we?ve letourselves down with the bat but I think we?re now ready to score bigtotals that can win us games.?

While the 26-year-old is happy to act as temporary captain, he?s not interested in taking on the job permanently just yet.

He added: ?Stephen Fleming won?t be around for the long haul and the club will be looking for a new skipper eventually.

?While I?m not interested in the job full-time just yet, I would certainly put my hand up in a couple of years or so.?
