17th June 2005
Date: June 19
Start time: 1pm
Game: Middlesex Crusaders v Notts Outlaws
Competition: totesport League Division One
Supporters? coaches leave for Southgate from the Salutation Inn at
8.15am and the Dixon Gate car park at 8.45am. Seats cost ?18 for adults
and ?6 for under-16s.
Our Director of Cricket says Sidebottom has been our best bowler this
season and is looking to Greg Smith and AJ Harris to produce the goods
in his absence.
Said Newell: "Ryan has been in great form all summer and to lose him for three weeks with a side strain is a major blow.
"It?s up to the senior bowlers to take on his workload and we have identified what we are looking for them to do."
Newell is hoping for a repeat of our performance against Lancashire
Lightning last weekend, when we got our first win of the season in the
totesport League.
That lifted us off the foot of Division One and Newell added it was
crucial to get a second straight win before the Twenty20 Cup starts.
He said: "Our bowling and fielding has been good all year but for the
first time they actually had a target they could defend and it helped
us to a fairly comfortable victory.
"Apart from the first 20 overs it was a very good performance with the
bat and even at the start I thought Russell Warren and Stephen Fleming
did very well to hang in against a swinging ball and provide a platform
from which we could build.
"We finally had wickets in hand to allow our middle-order hitters to
attack in the last 10 overs and Chris Read and Mark Ealham did their
job perfectly, which is what we want to happen on Sunday."
Injury news:
Sidebottom will be out for up to three weeks with a side strain picked up on day one of the Championship match against Sussex.

Squad:
Bicknell, Swann, Warren, Fleming (cap), Hussey, Read (wkt), Ealham, Patel, Clough, Smith, Harris, Alleyne.
