Notts won by an innings and 71 runs

Our captain's brilliant 238 from 236 balls helped set up the innings victory and put us on top of Division One.

Fleming thinks we have what it takes to be there at the end of the season and said: "I know there's a long way to go, but all of the team are feeling very confident and that leads to great performances.

"If we're top come the end of the season, it would be fantastic and the momentum we are generating at the moment puts us in a good position to do so.

"Surrey have been one of the strongest counties in England for a number of years and this win gives us even more belief that we can do well in Division One as well as adding to our momentum."

After bowling Surrey out for 217, Darren Bicknell and Jason Gallian knocked the stuffing from the home side with an opening stand of 178 before Fleming turned the screw with the third double century of his career.

David Hussey and Mark Ealham added quick runs as we declared on 692-7 - our third highest total in history - and we finished off the Surrey second innings with about an hour to spare.

Added Fleming: "I was delighted to help the team and the fact that I batted in two big partnerships with Gallian and Hussey made my job a lot easier and more fun.

"The rate at which we are scoring is going to help us win games and the fact that we have scored so heavily in three successive matches suggests we are a very good side."
