Charlie Shreck is confident the Nottinghamshire batsmen will produce the goods to lead the Outlaws to victory in the vital Friends Provident Trophy clash with Durham.
Friends Provident Trophy North Conference
June 10: Durham Dynamos v Notts Outlaws
Start time: 10.45am
The top two in the North Conference come up against each other knowing that the winner will secure a place in the semi-finals of the competition.
And Shreck believes his team-mates will again post a winning total on their visit to the Riverside, saying: "I think the batting in the one-day team has been going very well.
"They've been scoring lots of runs and at a good pace, which is important. That's helped myself and the rest of the bowlers, as we've had room to attack early on.
"And the experience in one-day cricket of Mark Ealham and Graeme Swann means that you can rely on them to keep things tight and build the pressure up.
"I haven't looked at how Durham have been doing too closely, but clearly they must have been producing some good cricket to get to the top of the table.
"But we are full of confidence ourselves and I'm sure the boys will be more than ready for the game."
Shreck will be up against former Notts player Will Smith, who recently scored his first-ever century in one-day cricket, but doesn't believe there will be any special plans in place.
He added: "I don't think we'll be treating any of their batsmen in a different way. For me it's just a case of keeping it on off-stump and trying to get some early wickets.
"Our bowling coach Phil DeFreitas has been talking to me about varying my length to make scoring runs more difficult. It worked quite well against Derbyshire - and not so much against Leicestershire, as the pitch was a bit slow.
"But the key is to try and keep things tight and build the pressure on the batsman by stopping him scoring, and the wickets tend to follow."
