Scorecard

Notts Second XI Coach Wayne Noon lost five players to injury in a disappointing defeat against Glamorgan at Notts Sports Club.

Bilal Shafayat retired not out with a finger injury having scored 23 in the first innings and Rob Ferley suffered a side strain which will rule him out him for up to two weeks.

“It was a bizarre game because of the injuries and we were forced to field with ten men at some stages,” said Noon.

“We lost Andy Carter to a shin injury during the warm-up, Mark Footitt rolled his ankle and Alex Hales has a back problem.

“We’re disappointed but the most pleasing aspect was getting overs into AJ Harris, Luke Fletcher and Gareth Clough.

“Thankfully Bilal’s injury isn’t anything serious and he has already picked up his bat again.”

Clough took three wickets and put in two solid shifts with the bat, scoring 54 and 40 before Notts’ second innings was cut short due to the mounting injuries handing Glamorgan victory by 278 runs.
