Chris Read’s 142 helped Notts to secure maximum points as their LV County Championship game against Yorkshire ended in a draw at Headingley.

England seamers Ryan Sidebottom (3-39) and Stuart Broad (2-26) enjoyed second innings success, restricting the hosts to 187-8, but the lost hours on day dashed any hopes of a Notts win.

Michael Vaughan was bowled by Notts spinner Graeme Swann off the inside edge while Chris Read caught Anthony McGrath and Jacques Rudolph off Broad and Sidebottom respectively.

The result keeps Notts at the top of division one of the LV County Championship on 34 points, four clear of second-placed Yorkshire.
