Fast bowler Jake Ball has been awarded a place on the ECB Scholarship Programme after catching the eye for the Notts Academy.

Jake has already represented Notts at under 11s and under 15s levels and returned to Trent Bridge this season with the under 17’s and also made his Second Eleven debut.

“Jake has been involved with us before and Darren Bicknall suggested that we take another look at him because he’d been doing well for Welbeck,” said Notts Academy Director Chris Tolley.

“The ECB are making a big effort to record ‘talent confirmation’ by identifying players with potential and testing their mental and physical attributes.

“The selection gives the England Coaches the chance to work with players who have the potential to play in the Under 19s World Cup.”

The 26 selected players will attend four residential camps and travel to India in February.
