Clifton Village Junior Coach Jamie Dickinson hopes that his recognition at a prestigious awards ceremony will inspire a new generation of volunteers to get involved in recreational cricket.
Jamie, a former Junior Outlaw currently studying in Oxford, has been a long-term contributor to the coaching team at his club’s junior section and will now receive an automatic nomination for the national awards to be held at Lord’s after being named Nottinghamshire Young Volunteer of the Year at the NatWest Outstanding Service to Cricket Awards (OSCAs).
“It was a great honour to receive the award and I hope that more people take the opportunity to contribute to grassroots cricket,” said Jamie.
“Clifton Village Cricket Club has a relatively young junior setup and relies on volunteers to deliver coaching to the age group teams.
“I’m looking forward to attending the national awards alongside the other winners from Nottinghamshire.”
Jamie was one of seven award winners at the ceremony hosted at Trent Bridge and attended by Nottinghamshire bowler Paul Franks and Matt Wood.
