Mark Wagh has been passed fit to play for Nottinghamshire against Sussex at Horesham after coming through a second eleven trophy fixture unscathed.

Wagh missed Nottinghamshire’s draw with Somerset after injuring his hip in the outfield against Yorkshire but scored 25 on his return for Nottinghamshire’s second string.

Ryan Sidebottom is unavailable having been selected for England but Nottinghamshire Director of Cricket Mick Newell will make unenforced changes with Luke Fletcher and Charlie Shreck expected to return to the side.

“Charlie and Luke deserve an opportunity and we’ve talked a lot about using the depth of our bowling attack to our advantage,” said Newell.

“We played at Horesham in 2003 and I’ve looked at the scorecards from recent fixtures there and it seems to indicate that it’s a good wicket and big scores are possible.

“It’s important that we win the game because Durham haven’t got a fixture this week and we can close the gap with a positive result.”

Scott Newman and Matthew Wood will get the nod at the top of the order.
