Mick Newell plans to re-order the Notts Outlaws batting line-up for Wednesday’s Twenty20 Cup match against Leicestershire Foxes at Trent Bridge.

Matt Wood, who hit 45 off 35, is the most likely contender for a place alongside Ali Brown in the opening pair with captain Chris Read making way after suffering a second ball duck in Monday’s win over Yorkshire Carnegie.

Darren Pattinson will replace Andre Adams in an otherwise unchanged line-up with Ryan Sidebottom, Samit Patel and Kevin O’Brien included.

“We played pretty well on Monday and we did a lot of good things in the game, most notably the aggression we showed with the bat in the first six overs,” said Newell.

“Ali Brown played very well and kicked on with Matt Wood but when we lost those two we spent too much time rebuilding when we should have kicked on with wickets in hand.

“Ryan was excellent. He knows how to bowl his Yorkers and doesn’t allow the batsmen to get many strokes away at the death.

“We still have to focus on winning all three of our remaining games to sneak into third place in the group but home advantage is a big advantage and we have to make it pay.”

David Hussey will watch the game from the stands after arriving in Nottingham to complete the formalities of his switch to provide cover for compatriot batsman Adam Voges.

“We would have preferred to have had David available for us all of this week but we had to follow the process and I know that he is keen to get out there on Friday and show the Notts supporters what he can do,” said Newell.

Tickets for today's game cost £15 for adults and £8 for juniors, while a family ticket for two adults and two juniors costs £38. Play begins at 5.30pm.
