Nottinghamshire duo Stuart Broad and Graeme Swann will miss Tuesday's game against South Africa 'A' and face late fitness tests ahead of the first game of the one day series on Friday.

Broad has had a series of injections in his shoulder whilst Swann is struggling to overcome a side strain.

“We’ve had quite a few injuries, being such an early part of a tour,” said Head Coach Andy Flower.

“We reckon they aren’t going to be medium-term injuries. We’re hopeful they’ll clear up by Friday.

"Swann will be out of tomorrow’s game and so will Anderson, he’s got a little problem with his knee. He played with it yesterday but he wasn’t 100 per cent fit.

“Broad’s had a number of injections in the past few days and we are waiting to see the reaction to those injections, to see whether it settles.”

Ryan Sidebottom, who celebrated the birth of his first child this afternoon, hasn't been selected for the one day tour but will travel to South Africa later this month ahead of the Test series.
