Academy prospect Ben McGuire will make his debut for Notts Outlaws in Sunday’s NatWest Pro40 game against Gloucestershire Gladiators.

McGuire, an aggressive batting all-rounder, was a key figure in the Academy’s promotion winning Bassetlaw League side and will be joined in the team by Akhil Patel and Andrew Carter.

Mark Ealham will be included for the final match of his professional career and Darren Pattinson also plays.

“Ben has done well for the Academy and he will definitely benefit from the experience of playing at Trent Bridge,” said Nottinghamshire Director of Cricket Mick Newell.

“It’s an opportunity for him to put himself forward but we’ve resisted the temptation to fill the side with young players because we want to finish the season in a positive fashion.”

Jason Brown and Samit Patel will give Notts a two-pronged spin attack and aggressive top order pair Matt Wood and Alex Hales have also been named.

Play begins at 12.45pm.
